Freshman Transition Day 2025

English teacher Meredith Alton directs the freshmen from her class as they head to their next block.

Incoming freshmen flooded the halls on Thursday morning to be welcomed to the high school. Students received their schedules and chromebooks, and then walked through their schedule to get to know the school layout and meet their teachers.

Taken in August 2010, the photo shows the Ritenour School Board members gathering with students who would be the first enrollees at the Early Childhood Center. The Center opened in 2011 and currently serves 235 students. The goal of Superintendent Dr. Chris Kilbride is that eventually all students will enroll there before Kindergarten.

Ron Steinschriber, Adviser
Ron Steinschriber has been the Pepper Box adviser since 2009,  and the Melaureus adviser since 2010. Prior to coming to Ritenour, Steinschriber helped create the Wydown Buzz, a student newspaper at Wydown Middle School in the Clayton School District. Before teaching, Steinschriber was a reporter for his college newspaper, The Collegian for 2 years.  He was then a freelance writer for Fresno Neighbors, and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Steinschriber is also the varsity girls assistant basketball coach at Ritenour.
