Ritenour listeners; what type are you?

Ritenour is a large school, and because of that, there are many different types of personalities around the school.

People who do not know me may think that I am a quiet person, but really I just like to sit and listen to people. When I am comfortable with someone, I actually talk a lot. I am a stubborn person who believes that I am right with about just about everything, and that I am usually not wrong.

There are plenty of people here at Ritenour that are the exact same way. However, there are also people who have more pride than I do, and will admit that they are wrong. I would like to be one of these people, so I need to take my own advice, but people who put their two cents into everyone’s business really bother me. If you are not asked for your opinion, then people probably do not care what it is.

People who believe that they are always right, are not. Everyone is wrong at times, people make mistakes, it’s the end, get over it.

There are also some students who think they are better than everyone else. Those people are usually rude to everyone, yet expect people to respect them. I do not understand where that viewpoint comes from. They do not change their views or listen to anyone else, and their attitudes will never change.

Another subgroup of Ritenour culture is a group of students who do not know how to control the volume of their voices. If your friend is standing five feet from you, there is no need to yell at them. They can hear you just fine, I promise.

If someone has to ask you “What?” more than once, than you need to either talk louder, or pronounce your words better. That is the only time. After the first time I ask, I stop listening and just pretend like I hear you.

Society has changed a lot since I was younger. People used to be able to be themselves while still being respectful of others. Today, people act the way they do to try to fit into crowds with people, and to be accepted by the “popular” people. Many also seem to think that there are no boundaries in school.

Honestly, how I see it, if someone does not want to accept you how you are, then they do not deserve to be a big part of your life.
