On September 21, 2014, Ritenour High School’s Marching Band participated in the annual St. Ann’s Day Parade.

The St. Ann Parade started at Tiemeyer Park and ended at St. Ann Park. It lasted from noon to one, and was followed by a fair at the St. Ann Park.

Junior Thomas Moran, a trombone player in the Marching Band, enjoys participating in the parade.

“[I enjoy being a part of the parade because] I get to make the crowd happy and wave to the kids,” Moran said.

Moran has been in Ritenour’s Marching band for three years and enjoys it because he feels that he is a useful member of the group.

Other than the members of the marching band and the school mascot, Superintendent Dr. Chris Kilbride and School Resource Officer (SRO) Jackie Evans, also participated in the parade.

Officer Evans enjoyed being in the parade because of the community involvement, and because it gave her a way to impact the community in a positive way. Officer Evans also liked being in the parade because she got to see the full extent of Ritenour student’s involvement.

“[I enjoy seeing Ritenour students participating the parade because] it shows that they care about the community,” Officer Evans said.
