Life Lessons – Amber Glen

“With every story, there’s a lesson”

Ritenour High School believes that for each person there lies a story. Each story teaches us a lesson to help us continue to push us through life, no matter how hard it gets. We are sharing the lessons of students and staff to encourage compassion and recognize what life has taught us.

Freshman Amber Glen

“I have been playing volleyball for the past six years. The past two summers I started playing beach volleyball. My partner was Sophia Reppert. Beach was a lot harder than we expected but we made a few friends who are amazing at it and have been playing for a little bit longer than us. They had already gotten bids to go to nationals. Sophia and I then wanted to get [a bid] too and we worked so hard with conditioning, ball control, and tons of practices. We were always sore and so tired. But then this past summer we had finally gotten a bid to go to nationals. Once we got the bid we were so happy. From this, I have learned that if you want to achieve anything your going to have to work really really hard.”
