The EdSurge Technology conference held at Ritenour High School on October 17 and 18,  showcased the most upcoming technology resources available in education. Ritenour Media Convergence and KRHS students were a proud part of the event.

On Friday, students in the program were able to provide tours of the $1.25 million facility and provide explanations about the online classroom to educational guests coming from all over the United States.

“I think  that technology isn’t really a distraction in the classroom, is the message that a lot of people heard from us,” said student Willie Rivers.

Saturday, Media Convergence students Rivers, Breon Gaines, Brandon King, Ryan Parker, Taylor Powell, Mekaila Warren, Cameron Glaezner, and Nikolas Klingerman, sat on a student panel to share thoughts on technology and classroom environments impact on students.

Gaines stated that teachers just need to stop and really listen to their students, something that resonated with many at the conference.

“I had so many teachers stopping me, shaking my hand and talking to me as soon as I was done with the panel,” smiled a proud Gaines.
