You Don’t Know My Story- Ava Biesterfeld

Mackenzie Davis, Staff Reporter

“Behind every person lies a story”

Ritenour High School believes that for each person there is a story. That we don’t know what the other person is going through so we must not judge others. We are sharing stories of students and staff, not to be a voyeur into others pain, but to show that we all deserve some compassion.

My greatest struggle by far is managing my type one diabetes with my everyday life. Type one diabetes is a very high maintenance disease, and I have always done my best to take care of it by myself, and not put that burden on those around me. With school, sports, work, and musical rehearsals it is very hard to find time to focus all my energy on it.

I have felt the most supported very recently in my life. With the musical just passing last week I realized how much support I have in my life, whether it is family, friends, teachers, or even just the little kids who came to watch. It was such an exhilarating experience, and I have truly never felt more supported in my life.”
