World Series game 4 recap

Boston and St. Louis all tied up

Boston made a 180 degree turn, forcing the series back into their favor in game four. The first run was scored in the third inning by the Cardinals when Matt Carpenter hit to center field and made it to first, then continued on to second when Boston’s Jacoby Ellsbury made an error. Carlos Beltran hit to right center making it to first and helping Carpenter score a run.

The second run was scored by Boston in the fifth inning when David Ortiz hit a double in center field, and Johnny Gomes got walked to first letting Ortiz make it to third.  Stephen Drew then hit a sacrifice to left field and Ortiz scored.

Boston scored their next three runs in the top of the sixth when Dustin Pedroia and Ortiz were both on base and Gomes homered 387 ft to left field, leaving Boston leading 4-1 at the end of the sixth inning. The final run of the games was scored by the Cardinals with Shane Robinson on second, when Carpenter singled the ball to the right and Robinson scored.

At the bottom of the ninth the final score was 4-2 with Boston taking the win. The World Series is now tied at two games apiece.
