World Series ends in a Cardinal Nation upset

Bad news hit Cardinal Nation as Red Sox fans celebrated a World Series win once again, beating the Cardinals for the second time in 10 years. The team only made it to game six the World Series, with Boston finishing St. Louis with a score of four games to two.

In the third inning, the Boston Red Sox scored three runs when Shane Victorino hit a ball deep into left field allowing Jacoby Ellsbury, David Ortiz, and Johnny Gomes to score. Victorino also advanced to third base on a throw.

For the Cardinals, the game continued to go down-hill as the Red Sox scored an additional three runs in the fourth inning. Stephen Drew hit a home run 391 feet into right center, Ellsbury then scored off of Mike Napoli’s hit, followed by Ortiz scoring off of Victorino’s hit. The score stayed at 6-0 Red Sox until the seventh inning.

Cardinals finally scored a run in the top of the seventh when Daniel Descalso scored off of Beltran’s hit to left field. With that being the last run of the game. Boston took the World Series with the final score of  6-1.
